iFog: The Anti Theft Fog Device

The inspiration behind the iFog design stems from the principle of "form follows function." The designers at Phox Design Studio aimed to create a device with a minimal and clean aesthetic that could seamlessly blend into various environments. Simplicity and ease of use were key considerations, ensuring that users can easily replace the fog bag while maintaining the security of the device's critical components.

What sets iFog apart from other anti-theft devices is its ability to generate a dense fog that obstructs visibility. This fog is harmless and non-toxic, making it safe for both humans and pets. The iFog device is meticulously crafted using high-quality materials. The exterior aesthetic components are made from injection-molded ABS plastic, ensuring durability and a sleek finish. The interior frame and boiler case are constructed from injection-molded PA 6 GF30 plastic, providing structural integrity and longevity.

Measuring at 210 x 260 x 350 mm (LxWxH), iFog is designed to be compact and unobtrusive. Its geometric shape and clean lines give it a modern and sophisticated look, while the different depth levels and finishes on the front add a touch of character.

The development of iFog was not without its challenges. The designers had to strike a balance between minimal aesthetics and functional effectiveness, ensuring that the device remained visually appealing without compromising its core purpose. Additionally, cost considerations were taken into account to ensure that the final product was both affordable and efficient.

The iFog project began in March 2021 and was completed in November 2021 in Padova, Italy. Extensive research was conducted to understand the requirements of anti-theft devices and to incorporate elements of modern interior design. The result is a sleek and functional device that seamlessly integrates into any environment.

The iFog design has been recognized for its excellence and innovation. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Security, Safety, and Surveillance Products Design category in 2022. This prestigious award acknowledges the device's well-designed, practical, and innovative features, meeting professional and industrial requirements.
